As I prepare to step down as Executive Director of the Mojaloop Foundation, I’m reflecting on an extraordinary journey — one shaped by purpose, community, and a shared belief that financial services should be accessible to everyone.
Leading the Mojaloop Foundation has been one of the greatest privileges of my professional life. Throughout my tenure, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside a global community of innovators, technologists, donors, implementers, and advocates who are all committed to advancing financial inclusion through open, interoperable digital payment systems.
When I joined the Foundation, I was inspired by the bold vision behind Mojaloop: that open-source infrastructure can help create more inclusive and equitable financial ecosystems. Today, that vision is stronger than ever. Together, we’ve grown a vibrant community, strengthened the Mojaloop platform, expanded its reach, and demonstrated the power of collaboration in tackling complex financial inclusion challenges.
This progress reflects the dedication and expertise of the Foundation’s staff, board members, community contributors, and partners. Your commitment, creativity, and perseverance have continually inspired me. Every milestone we achieved was the result of collective effort, shared values, and a willingness to work across organizational and geographic boundaries to pursue a common goal.
I am especially grateful to the many individuals who have contributed their time, talent, and passion to the Mojaloop community. Open-source initiatives succeed because people choose to contribute — not because they have to, but because they believe in the mission. That spirit of collaboration remains one of this community’s greatest strengths.
As I retire, I do so with immense confidence in the future of the Mojaloop Foundation. The need for inclusive, interoperable, and sustainable digital financial infrastructure has never been greater. The Foundation is well-positioned to continue advancing its mission, supported by a strong team, an engaged community, and a growing ecosystem of global partners.
While I may be stepping away from my formal role, I will remain an enthusiastic supporter of the Foundation and its mission. I look forward to seeing the next chapter unfold and celebrating the innovations and impact that are still to come.
