Voting is closed and the results of the 2021 Mojaloop Community Governance Elections are in. Today, we’re thrilled to share the new team of elected representatives for the Change Control Board, Design Authority and Community Council for 2022, as chosen by Mojaloop Community members.

First up, the Community Council is the representative governing body of the Mojaloop community. It is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic targets for the community and the resolution of potential conflicts. Members of the Community Council serve for one year and can be re-elected once. The 2022 elected representatives are:

  1. Bryan Schneider, Principal Technologist, ModusBox
  2. Ed Cable, CEO and Co-Founder, Mifos Initiatives
  3. Greg McCormick, Chief Strategic Business Development Officer, Sybrin
  4. Innocent Kawooya, CEO, HiPipo
  5. John Mark Ssebunnya, Digital Financial Practitioner and Fintech Architect
  6. Samuel Kummary, Program Manager, ModusBox
  7. Steve Haley, Economic Development Manager, ModusBox
  8. Tom Daly, Open Source Developer
  9. Warren Carew, VP Payment Solutions, ModusBox

Next, the Design Authority provides technical oversight for the Mojaloop community. It is responsible for providing thought leadership on technical issues, resolving technical disputes and reviewing technological/stack proposals and design reviews, among other things. Members of the Design Authority serve for one year. The 2022 elected representatives are:

  1. Bryan Schneider, Principal Technologist, ModusBox
  2. Johan Foley, Team Lead and Senior Software Developer, Sybrin
  3. Lewis Daly, Information Technology Consultant, Crosslake Tech
  4. Michael Richards, Principal Architect, ModusBox
  5. Miguel de Barros, Principal Architect, Technology, Cloud, Integration & Software Engineering, ModusBox

Finally, new to this year’s elections were two roles on the Change Control Board: Change Control Board Rapporteur and Change Control Board Convener. Change Control Board members are Special Interest Group (SIG) representatives selected by their SIGs and are therefore not elected by the community. However, the community did vote on these two new roles, and the electees will serve a one-year term. The 2022 elected representatives are:

  1. Rapporteur – Michael Richards, Principal Architect, ModusBox
  2. Convener – Samuel Kummary, Program Manager, ModusBox

Thank you to the outgoing members for your dedication and service, and welcome to the new elected representatives. We look forward to what will surely be a productive year. Outgoing representatives will be transferring responsibilities during the week of December 6th, and all new representatives will commence their 2022 term starting Monday, December 13.
