Mojaloop Deployments
At KPMG, we supported the Ministry of Digital Economy and Digital Transformation of a West African country in deploying its payment digitalization strategy. This included the design and pilot phase of an interoperability switch using the Mojaloop framework, in collaboration with partners such as AfricaNenda and Tazama.
The project focused on critical themes such as mobile money, interoperability, anti-fraud mechanisms, settlement models, business models, and scheme rules. KPMG’s approach facilitated the integration of Mojaloop with the broader payment ecosystem, ensuring alignment with local needs and international standards.
We oversaw the development of the interoperability switch, based on the Mojaloop Framework, which connected Financial Service Providers (FSPs) in the country. This included managing both business and technical components, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders, and maintaining rigorous coordination throughout the project lifecycle
Through this initiative, we worked to enhance the operational capabilities of the switch while promoting collaboration between FSPs and governmental entities to achieve seamless and secure digital payments.
